SOLD - 1760s French Painted Wood Bonnetière with Quadrilobe Décor and Scrolled Feet - LNG

A French period Louis XV painted wood bonnetière with single carved door and scrolled feet from the mid-18th century. This French wooden single door armoire with peg construction features a molded cornice overhanging a star within a medallion-adorned rail. The exquisite escutcheon on the left receives the key, allowing the door to open and reveal multiple inner shelves. The ensemble is raised on four delicately scrolled feet with nicely scalloped skirt on three sides. Born in the later years of Louis XV reign, this petite French armoire, circa 1760 will use its discreet elegance to enliven any room.
