SOLD - A French Louis XVI style beechwood barrelback bergère chair with carved motifs from the 19th century and new custom upholstery. Born in the 19th century, this French bergère adopts the Neoclassical lines of the Louis XVI period. The beautifully curved back is adorned with a carved crest, while its partially upholstered arms end with scrolled knuckles. The upholstered seat, comprising a single custom-made cushion, rests on a lovely carved skirt, showcasing the same decorative motif than the crest, accented with rosettes on the knees. The chair is raised on four tapering legs that are both fluted and reeded. A graceful silhouette, accompanied with a beautifully aged patina, will make this French Louis XVI style bergère chair from the 19th century an excellent choice for any living room, bedroom or library.
