An English Georgian period bleached oak chest on stand with geometrical motifs from the mid 18th century. This English Georgian chest on stand features a rectangular top with rounded edges over four drawers and a barley twist legs stand. Born in the 1760s, the upper section of this piece is made of a thin drawer adorned with a subtle gadrooning, followed by three larger dovetailed drawers, decorated with geometrical patterns. The general linearity of this chest is softened by the rounded lines of the pulls as well as the baluster motifs carved on the side posts and lower skirt. The ensemble is raised on a barley twist stand, contrasting nicely with the top. The clean lines, geometrical patterns and natural patina of the bleached oak, make this English chest on stand circa 1760 an excellent decorative choice for any home.
