A French walnut mid-18th century armoire from Lyon, with richly carved décor and scalloped skirt. Born in the Rhône Valley during the reign of King Louis XV nicknamed "The Beloved", this exquisite walnut armoire features a delicately arching molded cornice, sitting above a hand-carved rococo shell flanked with scrolls. Two elegant doors, adorned with double-bonnet motifs, are carved with molded panels and open to reveal inner shelves and hidden drawers, offering great storage opportunities. Raised on curving feet, the armoire is accented with a delicately scalloped skirt in the front. With its beautiful Louis XV lines and lovely walnut patina, this mid-18th century Lyonnaise armoire will bring a touch of French elegance to any home, whether placed in a bedroom or living room.
