A French still-life floral painting from the third quarter of the 19th century by Louis-Émile Minet (1841-1923), set in a giltwood frame. This French still-life painting features an exquisite arrangement of bouquets of flowers depicted on a neutral background. Vibrant colors such as yellow, orange and pink capture our attention and draw us in. The bouquet on the left, adorned with delicate branches of mimosa, is displayed inside a confit pot adorned with a green glaze, while the petite bouquet in the right is placed inside a wicker basket. Louis-Émile Minet is a native of Normandy where he died in 1923. He exhibited at the Salon de Paris in 1876 and received a prize at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1882. The Seine was one of his favorite subjects, with a particular focus on the activity driven by the river. In 1917 he was elected at the Académie of Sciences, Letters and Arts of Rouen and served as a curator of the Musée des Beaux-Arts of Rouen until 1922. With his delicate technique and exquisite frame, this French painting, signed lower left, will enliven any room beautifully.
