A French Louis XVI style painted wood upholstered bergère chair from the early 20th century. This French bergère à oreilles (wingback chair) features a straight back with curved sides, padded armrests and scrolled knuckles. The frame is adorned with a twirled ribbon motif, while the arms are accented with carved acanthus leaves. The ensemble is raised on four fluted legs, the two in the front being straight and adorned on the knees with the typical Louis XVI carved rosettes, while the back ones are slanted. The chair has been reupholstered and features a custom cushion on the seat.
