A pair of Swedish painted wood Neoclassical style armchairs from the second half of the 19th century with tall open armrests, carved skirt and newly upholstered seat. Each of this pair of Swedish armchairs features a delicately curved back with rectangular splat, flowing seamlessly into the tall open armrests that flank the sides. Each seat has been recovered with a new cotton double welt upholstery and rests on a delicate skirt, carved on the surround with waterleaf motifs, accented with rosettes on the knees. The ensemble is raised on four saber legs. The elegance of its lines, combined with the exquisite Neoclassical décor and soft color palette, will make this pair of Swedish armchairs circa 1870 a wonderful decorative accent for any living room, bedroom, foyer or office.
