Born in France during the politically dynamic 19th century, this trumeau mirror features a rectangular light grey painted frame, accented with a delicate gilded décor. The upper panel is adorned with a carved lidded vase with scrolling handles, surrounded by a linear molding. Four lovely rosettes mark the corners. Surrounded by a giltwood frame showing nice aging and petite beads, the central mirror plate is made of mercury glass. With its clean lines and contrasting colors, this French 19th century trumeau mirror will bring an elegant presence to any home, perhaps hung above a credenza, commode or console table.
