Pair of French Régence Period Early 18th Century Decorative Framed Wall Panels

A pair of French Régence period framed oil on canvas vertical wall panels from the early 18th century, with birds and floral décor. Born in France during the Régence that saw the transition of power between feu Louis XIV and a very young Louis XV, each of these wall panels features a central shell flanked with lovely volutes, and surrounded by a delicate bouquet of flowers, topped with birds sitting on a branch, while the lower section presents floral garlands attached to a grotesque. Standing out beautifully on the dark red background, each panel is set inside a gilded carved frame. With their refined décor and lovely proportions, these French Régence oil on canvas wall panels circa 1720 will bring a graceful presence to any home.
