SOLD - Danish Neoclassical Period Three-Drawer Painted Commode with Diamond Motifs

A late 18th century Danish neoclassical three-drawer commode with reeded decor and diamond motifs. Born in Denmark during the later years of the 18th century, this painted wood commode features a rectangular top with slightly protruding corners sitting above three drawers. Each drawer is adorned with a central elongated diamond motif, placed within a reeded structure. Two ring pulls allow each drawer to open. The side posts are adorned with fluted pilasters, topped with elegant waterleaves. The ensemble is raised on four legs, the two in the front being tapered while the two in the back are straight. The light color finish, combined with the clean neoclassical lines make this Danish 1780s chest-of-drawers a perfect choice for any living room, bedroom or foyer.
