SOLD - Pair of Swedish Rococo Style 1900s Wingback Bergère Chairs with New Upholstery

A pair of Swedish Rococo style painted wood wingback bergère armchairs from the early 20th century with new upholstery. Each of this pair of Swedish bergères features a winged camelback, providing both intimacy and protection from drafts. The back flows delicately into the upholstered arms, adorned with scrolled knuckles. Each armchair is raised on four cabriole legs, connected to one another through a sinuous skirt. The bergères have been reupholstered in a double welt muslin fabric, that highlights the delicacy of the Rococo lines beautifully. The chairs are painted in a light color, typical of the Scandinavian taste for soft palettes, aiming at brightening the homes during the long, dark winters of Sweden. With their curvy Rococo silhouettes and pale finish, this pair of Swedish wingback bergère chairs circa 1900 will bring a touch of elegance to any home, whether placed in a bedroom, living room or office.
