SOLD - French Louis XV Period 1760s Painted Architectural Panel from Burgundy

A French Louis XV period mid-18th century architectural panel from Burgundy scraped to its original paint, with ribbon-tied science trophy. Born in Burgundy during the later years of the reign of king Louis XV, this French architectural panel features a light grey painted structure, whose soft color highlights the beauty of the carved motifs perfectly. Our eye is immediately drawn to the central molded panel that is adorned with a ribbon-tied science trophy, composed of instruments of geometry, accented with a laurel wreath. This delicate décor is surrounded by molded panels, the side ones imitating the shape of pilasters. With its wonderful patina and delicate hand-carved décor, this French Louis XV architectural panel, circa 1760 will bring a graceful touch to any home, whether placed above an enfilade, console table or sofa.
