A French Louis XV period two-drawer commode from the mid-18th century, with carved apron, cabriole legs and Rococo style hardware. Born in France during the reign of King Louis XV nicknamed le Bien-Aimé (the Beloved), this commode features a rectangular top with serpentine front, sitting above two dovetailed drawers each fitted with Rococo style hardware including chinoiserie characters. Our eye is immediately drawn to the carved apron, adorned with scrolling foliage following the scalloped lines beautifully.
