Born in Sweden during the 19th century, each of this pair of exquisite neoclassical style armchairs features a barrel back with carved upper rail. The arms are adorned on the knuckles with classical figures while the seats have been recovered with a double welt neutral fabric. Each skirt is adorned with delicate motifs carved in low relief, and the chairs are raised on four legs, the front ones being turned and accented with foliage, while the hind ones are saber. The ensemble is painted in a soft color typical of the Scandinavian taste for light palettes, aiming at brightening the homes during the dark and long winters of Sweden.
