SOLD French Louis XVI Style 19th Century Mahogany Bouillotte Table with Marble Top

SOLD A French Louis XVI style mahogany bouillotte table from the 19th century with marble top, brass gallery, drawers and fluted legs. Born in France during the 19th century, this elegant bouillotte table features a white veined marble top surrounded by a delicately pierced brass gallery. An elegant apron is adorned with fluted accents and presents two dovetailed drawers and two pull-out shelves. The term bouillotte comes from the card game of the same name (a version of the poker) which became extremely popular in France during the late 18th century. The table is raised on four fluted tapering legs resting on petite brass feet. With its elegant Louis XVI style lines and lovely mahogany patina, this 19th century French wooden bouillotte game table will bring a classical presence to any home, perhaps placed in a living room, bedroom or foyer.
