SOLD Gustavian 18th Century Scandinavian Tall Slanted Desk Secretary with Glass Doors

A Scandinavian Gustavian painted wood tall secretary from the 18th century, with reeded accents, slanted desk and glass doors. Born in Scandinavia during the 18th century, this two-part tall secretary features a cornice adorned with dentil molding, resting above two paneled glass doors. These doors open to reveal a light blue painted interior with inner shelves. The lower section showcases a slant-front desk opening to multiple drawers surrounding a central door, while the writing surface rests on two pull outs. The desk height is 30" and its depth is 36.75" when open. The ensemble is complete by four reeded drawers (a narrow one at the top followed by three larger ones), each fitted with classical hardware, and resting on bracket feet. Painted in a soft color typical of the Scandinavian taste for light palettes, this 18th century Gustavian secretary will bring an elegant presence to any home, whether placed in a living room or foyer.
