Created in Sweden during the 19th century, this painted sofa features a slightly out-scrolling pierced back adorned, along with the arms, with carved motifs reminiscent of intertwined Gothic broken arches. A rectangular seat, newly recovered with a neutral toned double welt fabric, is resting on a simple apron accented with dentil molding while the ensemble is raised on eight tapered legs. The sofa is painted in a soft color typical of the Scandinavian taste for light palettes. With its elegant lines and lovely carved décor, this Swedish 19th century painted sofa will bring a graceful touch to any living room or bedroom. The seat is 25.5" deep.
