SOLD - Pair of Swedish Gustavian Style 19th Century Painted Chests with Palmettes

A pair of Swedish Gustavian style painted wood chests from the 19th century, with carved palmettes and fluted accents. Created in Sweden during the 19th century, each of this pair of chests features a rectangular faux-marble top with canted corners in the front and reeded style accents on the edge, sitting above three graduated drawers. The upper drawer, flanked with carved palmettes, is visually separated from the two other ones by its own style as well as the fluted side posts that link the lower ones to one another. Raised on short tapered and fluted feet angled in the front, the chests are painted in a lovely finish that compliments the pure lines beautifully. With their classical Gustavian style lines and distressed finish, this pair of Swedish three-drawers chests will be excellent decorative additions to any bedroom, living room or foyer.
