SOLD- 19th Century English Victorian Iron Sculpture Depicting a Cricket with Antennas

SOLD - An antique English Victorian period iron bug garden sculpture from the 19th century with large antennas, six legs and weathered patina. Created in England during the reign of Queen Victoria in the 19th century, this iron garden sculpture depicts a harmless bug that seem to be decidedly walking towards an unknown destination. It is its large scrolling antennas in the front, which attracts our immediate attention, but we are then invited to discover its bulging eyes and textured body. Showcasing six legs of decreasing size, the bug has its wings neatly folded on its back. Boasting a nicely weathered black patina, this English Victorian period iron bug sculpture from the 19th century will make for a lovely decorative addition to any garden or could be used as a door stop!
