SOLD - French 18th Century Louis XIII Style Upholstered Canapé with Os de Mouton Base

A French Louis XIII style three-seat canapé from the 18th century, with os de mouton structure and new upholstery. Born in France during the first half of the 18th century, this exquisite canapé features a slightly slanted three-seat camelback, connected to two open, partially upholstered arms with scrolling extremities. The long rectangular seat, along with the back, has been newly recovered by a double welt fabric. The ensemble is raised on an 'os de mouton' base reminiscent of the Louis XIII period, accented with a cross stretcher that connects the legs to one another. With its elegant lines and lovely patina, this French canapé circa 1740 will bring a refined presence to any living room. The seat is 23.5" deep.
