SOLD - French 1890s Enfilade from Picardie with Drawers over Doors and Diamond Motifs

SOLD - A French Picarde enfilade from the late 19th century with two drawers, two faux drawers, four doors, carved diamond motifs and stylized flowers in a vase. Created in Northern France in the Picardy region during the last quarter of the 19th century, this wooden enfilade features a rectangular planked top with rounded corners in the front, sitting above two real drawers in the center surrounded by two faux drawers on the sides, all adorned with diamond motifs. Four doors, decorated with vertical diamond motifs responding to the drawers' horizontal design as well as molded frames, open to reveal inner shelves offering convenient storage options. A central post dividing the façade into two sections is carved with a large scrolling stylized flower displayed in a vase while a delicately carved apron completes the ensemble. The enfilade is raised on scrolling feet in the front and straight ones in the back. The sides present simply recessed panels and the back is, of course, unfinished. With its elegant lines and brown patina, this French enfilade from Picardy circa 1890 will make for a great addition to any home, particularly placed in a dining room or living room.
