A Swedish Gustavian style painted wood sideboard from the late 19th century, with dentil molding and diamond motifs. Created in Sweden during the last decade of the 19th century, this Gustavian style sideboard features a rectangular top with canted corners in the front, sitting above a dentil molding. The façade showcases two drawers over two doors, adorned with diamond motifs. Fitted with ribbon-tied hardware and accented with twisted ropes, the doors open to reveal inner shelves while the canted side posts are fluted and adorned with carved rosettes. The sideboard is painted in a soft color typical of the Scandinavian taste for light palettes, with nicely distressed appearance. Raised on short tapered feet angled in the front, this Swedish Gustavian style painted sideboard circa 1890 will bring an elegant presence to any dining room or living room.
