A Swedish late Gustavian chest from the early 19th century, with two drawers and reeded motifs. Created in Sweden during the first quarter of the 19th century, this late Gustavian chest features a rectangular top sitting above two drawers fitted with Classical hardware. The upper one, narrow in size, is adorned with reeded motifs while the lower one, much deeper, is divided into two sections. Raised on tapered legs with spade feet, the chest is painted in a soft color typical of the Scandinavian taste. With its clean lines and subtle décor, this Swedish late Gustavian chest circa 1820 will make for a great addition to any living room or bedroom.
