A pair of Swedish Gustavian style painted wood chests from the late 19th century, with three drawers and dentil molding. Created in Sweden during the last decade of the 19th century, each of this pair of chests features a rectangular top with canted corners in the front, sitting above a dentil molding. Showcasing three graduated drawers fitted with Classical hardware, each chest is flanked with canted side posts adorned with carved rosettes and fluted motifs. Raised on four tapered feet angled in the front, the chests are painted in a soft color typical of the Scandinavian taste for light palettes.
