Created in Sweden during the later years of the 18th century, this Gustavian chest features a rectangular top adorned with delicate carved guilloche motifs on the edge, sitting above three dovetailed drawers fitted with classical hardware. The upper drawer, flanked with carved rosettes, is visually separated from the two others thanks to a horizontal frame. Boasting a nicely distressed soft colored finish typical of the Scandinavian taste, the chest is resting on four tapered feet with fluted accents.
