A Swedish Rococo period painted wood side table from the late 18th century, with serpentine front, single drawer, cabriole legs and nicely distressed patina. Created in Sweden during the last quarter of the 18th century, this painted side table features a rectangular top with beautiful serpentine front, sitting above a single drawer fitted with Rococo hardware. The apron on the sides and back is plain. The table is painted in a soft color with heavily weathered appearance, typical of the Swedish taste for light palettes aiming at brightening the rooms during the long and dark winters of Scandinavia. The ensemble is raised on four elegant cabriole legs, whose sinuous lines compliment the serpentine top beautifully. With its graceful silhouette and nicely distressed finish, this Swedish Rococo period painted side table circa 1780 will make for a lovely addition to any home, perhaps displayed in a living room, bedroom or foyer.
