SOLD: Swedish Gustavian Style 19th Century Extension Dining Table with Three Leaves

SOLD: A Swedish Gustavian style painted wood extension dining room table from the 19th century, with three new leaves and carved foliage. Created in Sweden during the 19th century, this dining room table features an oval top resting on an elegant apron adorned with carved foliage. Raised on five tapered legs with carved motifs echoed from the apron and rosettes on the knees, the table showcases three custom-made leaves that can be removed at will. While it can be sometimes difficult to find a traditional Swedish table with a carved apron on the extensions, this one presents a continuous apron running through the length, regardless of the number of leaves used. Once the leaves are removed, the piece becomes a round top table. Its elegant simplicity, as well as its light color palette typical of the Scandinavian taste, will make this 19th century Swedish Gustavian style oval table a perfect choice to decorate any dining room or breakfast area. Seats 10 guests.
