A Swedish Gustavian style painted wood two-drawer chest from the mid 19th century, with guilloches and garland motifs. Created in Sweden during the third quarter of the 19th century, this Gustavian style chest features a rectangular framed top sitting above an elegant frieze of guilloches. Two drawers, painted in a manner echoed from the top, are fitted with classical brass hardware and are flanked with foliage motifs. The chest is raised on four tapered legs and is adorned with an apron carved with an elegant garland. With its light two-toned painted finish and Gustavian lines, this Swedish chest-of-drawers, circa 1860, will bring a touch of Classicism to any bedroom or living room.
