SOLD: A pair of French Louis XIII style carved wooden fauteuils from the early 20th century, with camelbacks, os de mouton bases and flame stitch style upholstery. Created in France during the early years of the 20th century, this pair of wooden fauteuils showcases the stylistic characteristics of the Louis XIII era. Each chair features a slightly slanted rectangular camelback, connected to two large scrolling arms. The chairs are upholstered on the seats and backs with a used flame stitch style fabric in fair condition and secured with a nailhead trim. The ensemble is resting on a os de mouton base (translating as mutton leg in English), strengthened by an H-Form cross stretcher and front stretcher.
