A petite French Louis XVI style mahogany and mahogany veneer desk from the late 19th century, with brown leather top, two drawers and cylindrical legs on bronze feet. Created in France during the last quarter of the 19th century, this petite Louis XVI style mahogany bureau plat features a rectangular top fitted with brown leather showing a nicely aged patina. Showcasing two dovetailed oak-built drawers with mahogany veneered panels in the front presenting each a functioning key, the desk is raised on four slender cylindrical tapering legs mounted on petite bronze feet and adorned with a carved accentuation in their upper section. The dark tan leather top is in good condition with some traces of use but an old patina. With its Louis XVI style lines and mahogany structure, this petite two-drawer bureau plat circa 1890 will bring a Classical touch of elegance to any study or living room. Please note some rustic character on the ensemble.
