Created in France during the 19th century, this walnut desk showcases the stylistic characteristics of the Louis XIII era. The desk features a rectangular top surrounded by a carved foliage frieze running along the four sides, sitting above an elegantly carved apron. Two drawers, presenting a dovetail construction revealing the piece's age, are flanked with rosettes. The desk is raised on a barley twist base made of four turned legs with rectangular block joints, connected to one another through an H-Form stretcher of similar style, accented with a central finial. The ensemble is resting on four bun feet.
