Created in Sweden during the second quarter of the 19th century, this Rococo style guéridon side table features a circular top with nicely distressed patina, sitting above a turned pedestal. The table is raised on a tripod base made of three delicately curving legs surrounding a low spherical finial. The ensemble is painted in a soft color typical of the Swedish taste for light palettes aiming at brightening the rooms during the dark winters of Scandinavia. With its elegant lines, nice weathered patina and small proportions, this Swedish Rococo style painted wood guéridon side table circa 1870 will make for a graceful addition to any home, perhaps displayed in a living room, bedroom or hallway, topped with a porcelain vase, a giltwood candlestick or a petite statuette.
