Pair of Swedish Rococo Period 18th Century Side Chairs with Carved Splats

A pair of Swedish Rococo period painted wood chairs from the 18th century, with carved splats, cabriole legs, H-Form cross stretchers, floral upholstery and distressed patina. Created in Sweden during the 18th century, each of this pair of Rococo period side chairs features a tall, slightly curving back, adorned with a carved splat. The seats are covered with a black fabric accented with colorful tulips, in used condition but fairly clean. Each chair is raised on four legs, cabriole in the front and turned with slight saber accentuation in the back. These legs are connected to one another through a turned H-Form stretcher strengthening the ensemble. Boasting a nicely weathered patina, the chairs are painted in a soft color typical of the Swedish taste for light palettes aiming at brightening the rooms during the dark winters of Scandinavia. With their elegant lines and great patina, this pair of Swedish Rococo period side chairs from the 18th century will make for a lovely addition to any home, particularly placed in a living room, bedroom or foyer.
