Swedish 1770s Rococo Painted Wall Cabinet with Chapeau de Gendarme Style Cornice

A Swedish Rococo period painted wood wall cabinet from the late 18th century, with chapeau de gendarme style cornice, two doors and three inner drawers. Created in Sweden during the third quarter of the 18th century, this Rococo period wall cabinet features a 'chapeau de gendarme' molded cornice, sitting above two doors adorned with carved panels. These doors open to reveal inner shelves including an upper serpentine one at the top. The cabinet's interior lower section showcases three drawers presenting petite brass pulls. The ensemble is painted in a soft color typical of the Swedish taste aiming at brightening the rooms during the dark and long Scandinavian winters. The back is, of course, unfinished and fitted with hardware allowing the piece to be hung on the wall. With its Rococo lines and soft color, this Swedish wall cabinet circa 1770 will make for a wonderful addition to any home, perhaps hung in a kitchen or dining room.
