SOLD - French Louis XVI Period 1790s Walnut Three Drawer Commode with Butterfly Veneer

SOLD - A French Louis XVI period walnut commode from the late 18th century, with three drawers, fluted side posts, brass details and butterfly veneer. Created in France during the last decade of the 18th century, this walnut commode showcases the stylistic characteristics of the Louis XVI era. The commode features a rectangular top sitting above an elegant façde. A narrow drawer, fitted with brass hardware and adorned with butterfly veneer, is followed by two larger ones with similar décor. These drawers are flanked with fluted side posts. The sides are made of recessed panels with thin brass frames, while the back is, of course, unfinished. The ensemble is raised on four cylindrical tapering legs. With its clean lines and walnut patina, this French Louis XVI period commode circa 1790 will bring a touch of Classical elegance to any home, particularly placed in a bedroom, in a living room or a foyer.
