Created in France during the 19th century, this walnut commode features a rectangular white and cream variegated marble top sitting above two drawers. Each drawer showcases a brass trim surrounding linear handles flanking a shield-shaped escutcheon. Their dovetail construction reveals the piece's age. The ensemble is raised above four tapered legs mounted on petite square brass feet. The sides are made of recessed panels and the back is, of course, unfinished.
