French Louis XV Period 1750s Walnut Buffet with Carved Doors and Apron DLW

A French Louis XV period walnut buffet from the Mid-18th Century, with serpentine top, carved doors, apron and scrolling feet. Created in France during the reign of King Louis XV nicknamed le Bien-Aimé (translating as the Beloved in English), this walnut buffet features a rectangular top with serpentine front, sitting above two doors. Adorned with carved panels and fitted with Rococo style escutcheons, the doors open to reveal a dark stained interior with inner shelves offering convenient storage opportunities. The side posts are delicately carved and the sides are made of recessed panels. The back is, of course, unfinished. The ensemble is raised on four scrolling feet, connected to one another through an apron carved on three sides. With its elegant Louis XV lines and walnut patina, this French buffet circa 1750 will make for a wonderful addition to any home, placed in a living room or dining room.
