SOLD - A pair of French Napoléon III period painted iron garden benches from the mid 19th century, with C-scroll motifs and nicely weathered appearance. We are selling them separately for $2,750 each. Created in France at the beginning of Emperor Napoléon III's reign, these two painted iron garden benches charm us with their delicate décor and great patina. Ready for cushions and fabric, each bench features an open back adorned with symmetrical C-scrolls beautifully responding to one another. The rectangular mesh seat is resting upon six slender legs with flattened feet, connected to one another through side stretchers. The bench is painted in a white color showing great age including loss on various parts, revealing its life spent outdoors. With their elegant lines and distressed finish, these two French Napoléon III period benches circa 1850 will make for charming additions to any home, particularly placed in a garden.
