SOLD French 1890s Painted Pine, Serpentine Front Three-Drawer Commode with Bun Feet

SOLD - A French painted pine commode from the late 19th century with three drawers, serpentine front, rustic appearance and bun feet. Created in France during the last decade of the 19th century at a time when the Impressionists roamed the countryside to express their vision, this painted commode features a rectangular top with serpentine front and beveled edges, sitting above three drawers. Fitted with brass hardware, the drawers showcase a dovetailed construction revealing its age. The sides are plain and the back is unfinished, as expected. The commode is painted in a soft color whose nice distressing compliments the rustic character beautifully. The ensemble is raised on two bun feet in the front and two block feet in the back. With its elegant serpentine lines, weathered appearance and nice proportions, this French painted pine three-drawer commode circa 1890 will bring a touch of unpretentious elegance to any home, perhaps placed in a bedroom, living room or foyer.
