A Swedish Gustavian period painted wood nightstand table from the late 18th century, with a pair of petite double doors, a single drawer and distressed patina. Created in Sweden during the last decade of the 18th century, this painted bedside table features a rectangular top sitting above a pair of petite double doors fitted with ribbon-tied brass hardware, and opening to reveal a convenient storage space. The lower section showcases a single drawer fitted with hardware of the same style. Raised on four tapered legs with carved accentuation including discreet scoop motifs on the knees, the table is painted in a soft grey color typical of the Scandinavian taste for light palettes, with a lot of wood showing through. Boasting a nicely weathered patina and great rustic character, this Swedish Gustavian period painted wood bedside table circa 1790 will make for a lovely decorative addition to any bedroom, living room or hallway!
