Created in Sweden during the last quarter of the 19th century, this dining table features an oval top, sitting above a two-pillar base. This top separates into two parts and an extension leaf can be added. Each section is supported by a pedestal base raised on three scrolling legs with bronze lion paw feet mounted on casters. The table will therefore be moved more easily. The ensemble is painted in a soft color typical of the Swedish taste for light palettes aiming at brightening the rooms during the dark winters of Scandinavia. It boasts rustic character and a nicely distressed patina.
