A beautifully weathered 19th-century French grape harvesting basket, handwoven from natural willow in a classic barrel form. Once used in the vineyards of southern France, this sturdy and spacious basket features double-twisted horizontal bands for added strength, and charming, rustic loop handles integrated into the rim.
Traces of original red paint can still be seen faintly on the body — a vestige of its working life in the wine harvest. The patina is warm and timeworn, and while the upper rim shows minor rustic damage consistent with age and use, the basket remains structurally sound and full of character.
This piece is a wonderful decorative accent for farmhouse, wine cellar, or garden-inspired interiors. Use it for logs, linens, or simply as a sculptural object that tells a story of old-world viticulture.
