A handsome pair of Danish chests of drawers in beautifully patinated grey paint, crafted in the late 19th century. The tops are painted in a deeper shade of grey, offering elegant contrast to the lighter body below. Each chest features two spacious drawers framed by fluted molding and accented with original brass oval pulls and escutcheons. The semi-columns at the corners reference classical Danish style, while a dentil-carved strip just below the top adds architectural refinement. The lower apron is uniquely shaped, especially across the front where a carved stretcher adds subtle ornamentation. Constructed of oak on the body and drawer fronts, with pine used for the top, back, and drawer interiors, the craftsmanship reflects a thoughtful blend of strength and style. Three of the original locks are functional; one is damaged. Two working keys are included. Sturdy, timeless, and refined, this pair would elevate any interior with Scandinavian grace.
