A matched pair of French bergères from the early‑to‑mid 19th century, offered in original form with later upholstery. Each chair presents a tall, slightly reclined back, enclosed sides, and a loose seat cushion—hallmarks of the bergère type that emphasize comfort and relaxed use rather than strict formal placement. 
The frames are executed in fine hardwood, showing gently tapered legs, refined arm supports, and a restrained overall profile consistent with transitional French taste after the height of Rococo.
