French 18th Century Pair of Communication Doors
A pair of eighteenth-century French communication doors in warm-toned wood, presenting a classically paneled design composed of rectangular upper and lower panels flanking a shaped central panel with softly curved detailing. Communication doors — designed to link adjacent rooms while maintaining the visual coherence of a formal interior — were a hallmark of French classical architecture, found in the finest hôtels particuliers and châteaux of the period.
