Swedish Painted Gustavian Style Chest of Drawers
A Swedish Gustavian style painted chest circa 1860 with five drawers, discreetly marbleized top, carved fluted accents, tapered feet, and fluted side posts. This handsome piece radiates timeless grace, combining practical storage with elegant aesthetic details. The rectangular top features subtly canted corners, painted with veined motifs that emulate marble while maintaining a discreet allure. This craftsmanship marries functionality with artistry, showcasing unassuming sophistication. Five drawers provide convenient storage, with the two upper drawers carved with fluted motifs and fitted with brass pulls that reflect the period’s classical style. The three larger drawers beneath feature elegant hardware, perfectly complementing the design. Canted side posts, adorned with fluted motifs, frame the chest and lead to tapered feet that add visual interest.
