A French Louis XV walnut commode Sauteuse from the late 18th century, with two drawers, bronze Rococo hardware, cabriole legs and small proportions. The commode, called Sauteuse because of its small proportions and its two drawers in façade, features a rectangular top with rounded corners in the front. The drawers are both fitted with bronze Rococo hardware complimenting the lines beautifully. The ensemble is raised on four cabriole legs, connected to one another through a carved apron in the front. The sides are made of recessed panels with molded accents, while the back is, of course, unfinished. With its elegant Louis XV lines and nice patina as well as character, this French walnut commode Sauteuse circa 1790, will make for a lovely addition to any bedroom, living room or hallway.
