A pair of French walnut communication doors, circa 1790, presenting arched tops over a well-proportioned arrangement of molded panels — a composition reflecting the transition from Louis XVI classicism toward the emerging Directoire aesthetic. The doors retain their original wrought iron hardware in full: decorative hinges with curved and floral motifs, a central latch, and an ornate escutcheon framing the lock. The walnut has acquired a deep, warm patina through more than two centuries of use, lending the surfaces a richness that can only develop through time. A distinguished example of late eighteenth-century French domestic joinery, equally suited to installation or display in a refined interior. Offered as a pair.
