An exceptional early 19th-century Swedish secretary cupboard, circa 1810–1830, finished in soft grey with a beautifully aged patina. Crafted from oak and pine, the two-part construction includes a glazed upper cabinet with three fixed interior shelves and two small drawers, all painted in a pale, luminous white. Below, the drop-front secretary reveals a charming fitted interior with ten drawers of varying sizes, a lockable storage compartment, and a generously sized writing surface. The base houses five drawers arranged in four rows, all functioning with keys. While the internal locks are original, the exterior ones were sensitively replaced over a century ago. The piece features its original brass fittings and is supported by sturdy bracket feet. With four working keys included, this piece is as functional as it is decorative. A stunning example of Swedish Gustavian charm, perfect for use as a home office, statement storage, or curated display.
