Elegant Louis XVI–style mahogany flat desk, double-sided and beautifully appointed with neoclassical detailing. The front opens with four drawers, including a double drawer with an internal locker on the left. Each drawer retains its original lock and a working key. On either side, two slide-out pulls extend the work surface and are covered—like the main top—with newly replaced black leather, gilt-tooled and bordered with refined decorative irons.
A brass molding outlines the perimeter of the top, while the drawers, sides, and rear façade are embellished with inset brass rods; the back is crafted to simulate five drawers, allowing the desk to float elegantly in a room.
Raised on four fluted legs adorned with “rush” carvings, each finished with a brass ring at the top and terminating in brass sabots, the piece reflects the precision and harmony typical of Louis XVI design. Fully refinished and in excellent condition.
